Client Work vs. Internal Projects
I guess I’ve always known this; but it’s never really hit me until today. Maybe the reason that I’m able to wrap my head around it, is because it’s finally affecting me full force.
I’ve been working with a New York development firm for a few months now. We’ve been working on ways to expand our […]
My Box in a Box *Updated*
Viral Marketing at its finest. ![]()
If you no have idea who the girl is in the picture, get out from the rock you’re living under. She goes by “Bunny”, from “My Box in a Box”. Really, if you haven’t seen the video, go watch it. The “Digg Effect”
Yesterday, I posted a Mac Codec Pack with the primary purpose of hoping it would go front page on digg, to see what would happen.
Success, It went frontpage, we got bombarded with visitors, and kept going. Microsoft to Buy Yahoo? Shoemoney says so…
So I read a blog post by Jeremy (ShoeMoney.com) about how Microsoft might buy Yahoo in 2007 and all the reasons why. I enjoyed it so much I figured I’d post a commentary on his points. So here you go:
1. The search algorithm… duh… Microsoft’s horrid search algo is by far the single biggest problem that Microsoft has right now. The problem is that when there are no users using the search engine then there are a ton of ads that never are shown. If Microsoft were to acquire Yahoos search algorithm this would be a GIANT step in getting users back.
I wouldn’t go as far to say that no one uses MSN, it’s popular in a lot of places outside the US (more so than yahoo) and inside the US, it’s got a decent market share. However, it does suck (no argument there) and Microsoft could do a lot better with Yahoo’s algorithm and technologies.
