QuickShareIt Warning

So someone emailed us today asking me to delete a file from the QSI servers. No reasoning what so ever… We try not to just delete stuff when people ask out of no where because who knows if the person who uploaded the file really wants it deleted. Anyway, it was a PDF so when I clicked it to investigate, I was shocked to see the guys bank statement!!!! Just a word to the wise here…DO NOT USE QUICKSHAREIT TO UPLOAD IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS! We ended up deleting the file and contacted the user to let them know their file had been safely removed; however, that type of thing needs to be avoided. While we can surely be trusted here at Twenty08…I don’t want your bank statements!

Just a quick update on beta 5…it’s coming, soooo soon. I know we keep promising to release it, but this time we’re not lying! It will indeed be released mid week or your money back! (Heh)

Hang in there kids. In the meantime, go buy an iPhone and install MobileChat. (Only $299, call now!)

Any news on beta 5? I mean, it’s been a fortnight since this post and no new info since. I’d prefer an update on progress to a false release date.

And BTW, does the privacy policy say you can look into the files that are uploaded? I thought it wouldn’t be such a clear cut thing…

Our privacy policy is relatively simple in that it just says a few things which we won’t and will do. In this situation, some random person emailed us requesting to do a delete. The only reason we opened the file was because it could of been a link off of a competitors site that they were trying to sabotage. In the next version you’ll be able to delete your files, so that problem will go away.
